Substitute teacher

I am have been a substitute teacher for the past 2 years. I have been having a hard time finding a full time teaching job. Well, being a sub is crap. I am at the mercy of a "caller" who probably hates her job just as much as I do. Then, there are the "teachers" who look at you like you like you have a head full of eyes and treat you like you have the plague. Little do they know you are just as qualified, if not more qualified to do their job. Chances are you are probably better at it too. Yet, they have a classroom and you have to be in it all day as a substitute. Finally, there are the children. YOu can't blame them for thinking they get a day of fun because their "real teacher" isn't there. Well, great. Meanwhile, I wake up practically in tears because I go to a job that I actually hate. I actually have anxiety. I am contemplating getting another job; however, everyone says it is good experience. I am starting to not buy this nonsense. Yikes. I know how much it sucks to do substitution work.. My sister does it and can't find a teaching job either, and in this depressed area, she gets only $70 a day to deal with all the crap that comes with being a sub like you said, and having to go off of the teacher's poorly written lesson plan, juggling all of the kids with more issues than you'd like to admit, and at the end of the day the school district treats you like trash. If you can't get a stable teaching job and don't get many days subbing, I'd look into maybe doing work in BHRS which is what I do, with your credentials you could work as a TSS or a Case Manager and be making $12+ per hour with stable hours, and as a CM you'd more than likely have a 9-5 schedule and a decent amount of benefits.
